The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a voluntary youth development program under the ministry of youth. Affairs and sports government of India, it aims of develop students personality tough community service and social responsibility. The motto of NSS is Not ME BUT YOU emphasizing selfless service and concern for the welfare of others.
OBJECTIVES OF NSS
The main objectives of National Service Scheme (NSS) are :
- Understand the community in which they work
ii. Understand themselves in relation to their community
iii. Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving
iv. Develop among themselves a sense of social and civic responsibility
v. Utilise their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems
vi. Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of sponsibilities
vii. Gain skills in mobilising community participation
viii. Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes
ix. Develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and
x. Practise national integration and social harmony

NSS at Alok Vigyan Mahavidyalaya Kekri
The NSS unit of Alok Vigyan Mahavidhyalaya Kekri is committed to nurturing socially responsible citizens through various community service activities. The unit actively organizes awareness campaigns, environmental initiatives health programs and social welfare activities encouraging students to contribute positively to society while developing leadership team work and service oriented values.
